ICL is attuned to the cultural exchanges between the enterprises, enhance the relationship between the company and the local community and welcome a mutual development.
Maintenance in the community
The Haikou mine region includes a relatively large number of elderly people living alone. The ICL YPH maintenance department league branch is engaged in voluntary activity for these elderly.
The maintenance department youth league branch visited elderly people homes to help improve their home water and electricity utilities, and to search for and eliminate in-house safety hazards.
Volunteers checked water pipes and electrical systems at homes, and found several hidden hazards. Most identified problems were related to faulty valves in water pipes and aging electrical systems. They were all solved by the ICL YPH volunteers.

During 2018, ICL China LYG organized its staff to help in a beach clean up of a nearby neighborhood. Waste and rubbish were collected from the coastline.
Also in 2018, ICL China LYG organized a condolence visit to the border defense police station nearby and celebrate China PLA Army Day.
ICL China Shandong (SBCL)
In 2018, ICL China SBCL organized a donation to a local neighborhood who suffered a significant flood. The staff of SBCL raised donations of both money and clothes.
ICL China Jiaxing (JX)
ICL China Jiaxing hosted a visit to the plant, by a dozen of residents from the neighboring villages, to discuss odor issues that impact the neighboring communities. ICL-JX management and technicians had thorough discussions with the visitors and toured the facility together and introduced their environmental protection practices. Through the visit, the residents of the neighboring villages identified that ICL-JX was not the source of the odor.
