Community Engagement in Brazil
ICL Brazil supports various social activities as part of its social engagement practices. This includes donations for local schools, teaching at local elementary schools and more. \
Specific activities held in 2018
- In São Paulo ICL’s employees were involved in money donations to provide a fun day in the aquatic park for 21 children who live in an orphanage. Three of ICL’s employees were able to join the kids and spent the day with them at the park.
- In São José dos Campos ICL’s employees managed to collect 1.5 tonnes of food for donation during Safety Week. The food was donated to a local charity institution.
- Every two months a community committee meets at the ICL Brazil SDJC plant, to discuss any issue related to local interactions and strengthen the bond between the site and the local community. The committee includes local leaders, representatives from the fire department, teachers, doctors, police representatives and NGO’s.
- In Cajati ICL’s employees volunteered at the Recycling Cooperative (Cooreca), where they were able to help with the improvements of revitalization, civil and electrical reforms, cleaning and organization.
