ICL was awarded the maximum Platinum + ranking in the 2019 Maala Corporate Responsibility index (for 2018 performance). The Maala ranking is the leading sustainability index for business in Israel. Scores are based on detailed criteria in diverse areas of sustainability: environmental protection, business ethics, diversity and fairness in employment, community engagement, corporate governance, sustainable procurement and others.
ICL was selected as one of only 230 public companies worldwide to be included in the 2019 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI). The GEI distinguishes companies that are committed to transparency in reporting their gender policy and advancing gender equality. ICL is the only Israeli company included in the Bloomberg GEI, as well as the only company among its major global peers in the specialty chemicals and fertilizers sectors.
In 2019, ICL achieved the highest increase in rankings among all ranked companies in the Israeli BDI “Best Companies to Work for” index. ICL was ranked 45th among all Israeli companies in 2019 (84th in 2018), and 5th among industrial companies. This survey-based ranking measures the views of Israeli employees and managers regarding their current and preferred places of work and also takes into account their companies’ investment in human capital. ICL monitors this ranking as one of it’s KPIs related to its commitment to being an Employer of Choice.
ICL (global) ranked among top 7% scores among 33,000 global supplier companies for it’s 2018 Ecovadis sustainability assessment. EcoVadis is considered a global leader in ranking sustainable practices of suppliers. ICL received a score of 60/100, silver ranking, just under gold ranking (>62). See our score summary
ICL received the general score of B for it’s 2018 CDP Carbon report, and also the maximum score of A, in the CDP’s new second sub-ranking, called Supplier Engagement Rating (SER). Only 120 of 5000 (2.5%) reporting companies achieved the SER score. ICL is the only fertilizer company, and the only Israeli company, to make the CDP SER A list.
ICL’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO) received the EIPM-Peter Kraljic award 2018 for “Value Contribution Through Sustainability & Business Intelligence”. Among else, the ICL GPO has significantly expanded it’s sustainable procurement practices in 2018-9.
ICL U.S. Carondelet was granted both the Gold and Platinum Pretreatment Awards in 2018, for excellence in wastewater management, by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR).
ICL received an overall 57.9 (of 100) Bloomberg ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) score for it’s 2017 reporting and performance. This was the highest score for an Israeli-based company, and was tied for 2nd place among global fertilizer producers.
ICL Amfert The Netherlands received in 2017 a state subsidy for its innovative Phosphate recycling project.
ICL’s sustainability reporting system Project was awarded 3rd place in the Israeli PMI 2017 awards (IT)
ICL Neot-Hovav was granted the Israeli ‘Green Chemistry’ award for 2016.
ICL Germany Ladenburg won the 2016 ‘Responsible Care Award’ by the Baden-Wurttemberg Chemical Industry Association.
ICL the Netherlands was among the top-3 Dutch ‘Responsible Care Award’ finalists in 2016.
ICL was recognized in 2016 as one of the first Israeli companies to continually publish an annual CSR report (since 2010), by the Israeli CSR institute.
ICL Rotem was granted 2nd place in the 2015 IFA Green Leaf sustainability award for advanced and innovative mining reclamation techniques.
