    Engaging Our Communities

    ICL is committed to the improvement of society as well as the environment at large.  As part of this commitment, ICL strives to improve the quality of life in communities in which it operates. To do so, the company supports and develops plans, initiatives and activities aimed at empowering and strengthening the economic, social and communal fabric and provides local residents with opportunities in the areas of education, sustainability, science and innovation. \

    ICL aims to be a significant engine for growth and to help develop the communities in which it operates. The core of ICL’s social vision is based on cooperation through initiatives and investment in community projects with the involvement of its employees, residents and local organizations. ICL works to be a positive force in all of its locations.

    Quantitative details of ICL’s community investments and donations appear in the table below. The grand majority of the  increase in monetary donations in 2018 is derived from ICL’s investment in the new Dead Sea Heritage site and visitor center, see details here.

    Note: 2018 income before tax does not include the one-time divestment of business assets. These one time-sales/acquisitions are not factored into ICL’s planned community investment budget planning.

    In 2018, ICL welcomed nearly 24,000 visitors to its sites worldwide, as part of dedicated public engagement programs. The visitors experience and see first hand how the ICL production processes take place.  The visitors are also introduced to the environmental and safety precautions that are implemented in all ICL sites.

    Global Social Responsibility Committee

    ICL has recently created a Global Social Responsibility Committee. The committee’s goals are to expand ICL’s community activities by connecting employees to various activities and broadening employee involvement. 

    An important aspect of the committee activity is to make sure that each region has their own unique needs met. Therefore, the representatives of the committee will work to pinpoint, identify and update regional needs in the area of social responsibility and community. 

    The committee will also work to strengthen the integration between ICL volunteers and will work to increase the integration of volunteers in current activities alongside the promotion and implementation of initiatives by ICL’s employees.
